I am currently using Kubuntu 6.06. Everything works fine except my audio gets flaky, i will be able to hear wind sounds, and other sound effects, but that's it. And I can't get video to work at all. What libs, or something do i need to get?

First of all, make sure you have firegl installed, also, check your audio settings and drivers and make sure they're up to date.

I don't think video works in the Linux client yet.. AFAIK it is because it is dependent on quicktime for movies, which is not well supported at all in Linux (but I will wait to be corrected on this point). I did write a separate program called slstream.py a while back which could extract the movie url and launch an external movie player (not tested this recently though)... You would have to have the linux quicktime codecs installed though (which I think are available for mplayer)... less than easy to get it all working unless you want to put a bit of time in.
Slstream.py can be downloaded here: http://stux.wikiinfo.org/Tools |
