Alpha Client timing out to the servers.

Hello all, only decided a couple days to start using my Linux machine
for things other then a NAT. But im having problems with the client (1.10.2.2),
it runs and starts up all fine but when i try to connect i get this

and on the screen its trying to Verify protocols just hangs there the older
version prior to this one did the same as well..i know the machine isnt blocking
any of SL connections because another computer behind it is runnign SL just
fine for my roomie who's using my box as a outgoing connection. if anyone has
anything that can toss up something would be appreciative.

It's unable to establish a UDP connection. TCP is working but the connection it added there was to start the data transfer for UDP which is what games use. It's being dropped. Either not forwarded by a firewall or router which is to busy or it is blocked. Busy routers drop UDP packets. Earlier someone had an issue where the ports were only open one way.
