Has anyone been able to use antialiasing in the newest RC? With the .19 releases, I had been able to use the NVidia X Server Settings tool to force AA to 16X or other. With the new release it seems to have no effect. If I try to enable it in the SL preferences, I get an Unable to Create Window message, a blank window, and I have to edit the configuration file to turn AA back off to get SL to start again. Any workarounds? I usually don't run it.. But I tried it with the 1.20.xx releases.... It looks broken in 1.20.2. Or at least I can't turn it on. (>_< https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-6656

.. and confirming here that IF AA is turned on , the new RC will not start ( "Could not find matching GLX visual" which can only be resolved by (re)setting RenderAnisotropic back to 0 value in settings_releasecandidate.xml Man, this linux-client is deteriorating fast ....

I also can't seem to force AA on with the windows client with ATI drivers so it's not just Linux.

It seems to disable AA completely. In other words, even if your graphic card settings have AA enabled, when you run up SL Client regardless of its AA setting, AA is off!

Same thing here.. things look worse to me, normally have AA on, couldn't figure out the problem with this release until I checked and it was off.

It looks as if AA has to be enabled by SL when SL initializes the graphics card.
Is SL over riding the environmental setting? There could be problems with future linux releases that rely on compositing. SL should have a handle into AA from the nVidia or ATI drivers.

I'm using 1.20 RC4 now and not only does it seem to actually be more stable for me than the 1.19.1.4 client, AA works for me again also. I use xubuntu hardy heron with the 169.12 NVIDIA drivers the restricted modules offer me.
