Doesn't look good does it?
Assuming you've checked web-browsing and all that is ok, have you tried logging in to a different region?

normal surfing the web works fine, other internet stuff as well

I am in timezone UTC+1h +1h DST. But I don't think its a timezone problem. The error message more likely looks like a problem with curl

I run Suse 10.0

Last version of SL that run here was 1_16_0_6 (yes, I am here only very ocasionally). That version told me to upgrade because it is not possible to run this version any more)

I connected to some random locations like silverstone and Bunyip I found on the web page. No Sucess.

Even wrong login give the same error message.

I also deleted cache and tried from scratch, same error. (moved away ~/.secondlife)

Any more hints for me?

just updated to 1.18.4

it works

not really a solution to the problem IMHO, but good enough for now
