Finally I don't have to even think about compiling my own video drivers etc (not that I was thinking too hard about it before)!

I just installed a fresh copy of the latest Debian on my Dell SX260, which is a compact desktop system (not a lot of room in there for add-on hardware... none in fact). I decided to give the latest SL a try while I was at it and was just a tiny bit surprised that it worked once I supplied the "-ignorepixeldepth" option (which I remembered from before was necessary if you didn't want to mess with your X.org configuration).

Congratulations to LL on having a client version that "Just Works!" on a fairly common distro. I'll probably be using SL on a regular (or more regular at least) basis once again now that I don't have to jump-start my old old Windows box (which I did just boot the other day for the first time in 835 days it said... sticktion anyone?).

YAY!

I'm running SL on Etch also. It's works fine and runs at double or better the frame rate as windows 2k on the same hardware.

The latest client, 1_15_0_2, has a new problem, it's using about 540 MB of memory when I start it, after it's run for awhile memory use increases to 1.5 GB. At that point SL has either crashed or becomes unuseable because of paging. Looks like a memory leak. I'm using and Nvidia graphics card.
