Okay, guys - It's my turn to have voice issues again. This time, it's completely baffling me!
It started a couple of days ago. Voice connects, I can hear people talking for exactly 30 seconds, and then there's silence. About a minute later, I get "Connecting to In-World Voice..." in chat, followed by "Connected.", and I can hear people again - for another 30 seconds. Wash, rinse, repeat.
I've already determined Pulseaudio is not part of the problem, as this behavior persists even with Pulseaudio disabled and using straight ALSA.
When voice suddenly decides to cut out, there is no visual indication that this has happened. I still see everyone in the voice chat list, I still see green bars as people talk. When using Pulseaudio, I still see the sink/source created by SLVoice. The only visual indication I get is, when voice reconnects, the old sink is removed and a new one created. It's all acting as if voice is just simply being muted in the viewer, but it's not muted, nor does cycling the mute button do anything.
Any ideas of what may be going on?

Okay, well... That was fun - NOT! After combing through system logs and trying to reverse every update that had been made since last time voice had worked, nothing I did could fix it. It didn't help that, between the last time voice worked to the first time I noticed this problem, there was a kernel update, and all sorts of updates for Thunderbird, OpenOffice, Pidgin... Well, you get the idea. So, I gave up in disgust, booted into Windows, logged into SL and... Voice kept reconnecting every 2 minutes there, too! WTF??? Tried another computer (also running Windows) and, same damned thing there! At this point I'm completely at a loss to figure out what the problem is, and I decided, just for the hell of it, to reset my router. Problem solved! Now, if anyone knows the number for a good therapist, I might be okay again...

It did sound like a network connection problem, but considering it was working before, and then decided to cause problems with just SL, well I see how that was overlooked, I would have done the same. And a thank you for posting your solution, not many do that, and you have just helped anyone else encountering that same problem .
