Hello,

My client at work stays stuck at the "Initializing World" step. I see the following message appear thousands of times on the shell:

" INFO: idle_startup: Waiting for seed grant ...."

Could this be a packet not reaching? Can someone give me some pointers where to look or what to fix to get passed this hurdle? I turned off my iptables service...

Thank you

Max

I get this messages, too. But I can login.

To me this output looks like too verbose busy waiting :-P

When this happens to me, a reboot fixes it

SL client is possibly not releasing a resource it needs on quit - someone elsewhere was suggesting a sound driver resource was being locked.

I haven't the skill to track the cause closely enough to make a proper bug report :-( but I suspect ARTS, as out-waiting the auto-release I set in the KDE sound control panel often works too.

Also, JIRA has a few related bugs tagged 'fixed internally'

Browsing JIRA for unrelated reasons, I have seen a few bugs that relate to this sort of behaviour tagged as "fixed internally, awaiting release" so hopefully the rebooting, etc will not be needed soon.
