.. Or how to lose your way and become a pariah in one easy step..

.. And I am not talking about Vinci :p

I seem to have lost some of the landmarks I entered in earlier releases of the client. They are not stored locally are they? Also a couple of names have disappeared from my friends list, although I still have their CC, so I do not think they removed me, and I am sure I did not remove them.

Anyone else noticed this behaviour?

As fas as I understand it, your friends list shows who is your friend, not the otherway around. So if someone drops the friendship they vanish from your friends list, but you still keep the calling card.

I think thats how it works...

All the data is stored on LL servers, so you can use different machines and different clients, and you still keep all your inventory.

As for disappearing landmarks and friends, no, I haven't had any loss of inventory yet *prays*.

I have on past release changes "lost" stuff that appeared a while later, sometimes a few days later. I put it down to Inventory Download Timeouts.

I haven't had this recently, though - except for one outfit, that NEVER came back (1.8.something), so I bought it again.

I think that particular case was one of those issues with changing clothes and having a high bad packet level. I have since become MUCH more careful what I do, when I have bad packets.

Concerning friends, it doesn't matter who 'made' the friendship; either side can delete the friendship (without the other party being notified) and the friendship is broken. Friendship must always be 2-sided.

I delete friends all the time. :3 It's not being rude, it's just that otherwise my friend list would be too huge to actually browse usefully, and 50% of the people who ever friended me I never really spoke to again (including the random drive-by-friendings from people I never even spoke to in the first place, guess they just liked the av or something... weird).

Yes.. I realise that.. I just thought that if someone deleted the friendship, that the other person lost their CC.. This didn't happen for me, so it looked like I had deleted the friendship, which I hadn't..

Also it still doesn't explain the missing landmarks..
