I downloaded SculptyPaint on Debian Lenny 32bit. I try to run the program and it just locks up; no error messages at all. I have Java JVM 1.5 installed.

I may be way out in left field with this, since I don't use the program; but since you mentioned Java, I'm assuming SculptyPaint depends on it.
If so, then your problem may be in which JVM you have installed. For best results, you need to have Sun Java JRE installed. The package name is sun-java6-jre (I also recommend installing sun-java6-plugin). Once you have those installed, then you need to tell your system to actually use it, rather than the free version you have now. To do this, type: sudo update-alternatives --config java into terminal, and then select the Sun Java JRE. This will configure your system to use Sun's Java by default. Edit: I just did some browsing through Synaptic and see that Sun, in their unexplainable infinite wisdom, had completely changed version number conventions between Java5 and Java6. It seems likely that you already have sun-java5-jre installed, which is fine. You should still run update-alternatives to ensure it is s et as your default JVM. _____________________
