Toggle to fullscreen, the client will switch to the fullscreen size but still be windowed, this does allow for window size changes in prefs though.

Fedora 4, GNOME, nvidia, athlon 2600, 768Mb

This probably falls under the known issue of 'can't change window size.' Dunno. Either way, you're not alone. I just left mine in windowed mode and changed the settings.ini file. (or rather, imported it from my WINE install)

As soon as I read this thread, I went into "fullscreen mode" and set my size to 1152 x 864.

Rather than fiddling with the settings.ini file (I have in error embedded ctrl characters in text files with vi in the past), I found this a User Friendly Way to get over the 800 x 600 limit

As others have noted I was able to change size by unchecking "run in window" (although it still runs in a window).

However, after having changed the size, when I checked "run in a window" again and applied, client crashed when trying to resize again. Here's the last bit of the console output:
