Greetings,

This has been the solution to my 64bit linux client woes, and I hope to yours as well.

A big shout out to Robin Cornelius, the gal (?) who put all the hard bits together, creating the binary (.deb) files for the viewer and all supporting libraries.

You will need a pretty rich installation to satisfy all the dependencies; the usual methods apply for resolving such issues.

You can find the .deb for the 64bit sl viewer and associated supporting libraries here: http://www.byteme.org.uk/secondlife-amd64/binary-packages.html

On my new system (specs to follow) it freakin' ROCKS. It's crispy, doesn't care if I minimize it, and there is no flickering and jittering of the the terrain/prims like I had when running in 32bit mode.

Good luck, see ya on a grid somewhere.

Cheers,
Laz

System Specs:

nVidia GeForce 8500GT/256MB

Sidux Linux (debian-sid based linux distro)

this is a crazy rig, it is practically silent, runs cool as a cucumber, and flies like a bat out of hell
