First, I just wanted to say thanks to the Linden Linux developers. I'd been using the viewer on Windows until I upgraded to 1.14.0.0 and found it terribly crash prone. So I said 'what the hell', and tried the Linux viewer. I was pleased to find that it was not only rock solid, but also smoother, crisper and faster on the same hardware (dual boot machine). So, nice work!
I'm running X11 v7.1.1 on an NVIDIA Quadro FX 4500 card, and configure my X via the nvidia-xconfig program, which usually works pretty well for me. My question is, are there any special options we can turn on to gain additional performance? For example, what about RenderAccel and Composite? Should one or both be enabled? Are there others?
--render-accel, --no-render-accel
Enable or disable the "RenderAccel" X configuration option.
--composite, --no-composite
Enable or disable the "Composite" X extension.
Thanks.
