I am a SuSE user and until today I wasn't able to run the client.
The problem was that a kernel update reset my X driver to the 'nv' one (unaccelerated and lacking GLX, i.e. 3D extensions).
To enable it again, I had to run:
sax2 -r -m 0=invidia
(Digging out this information from the net was a pain)

That's one way to do it.
However the recommended SuSE way is, after any updates on the kernel, reinstall the NVidia driver.
For that, run YOU (Yast Online Update), download the available updates as usual (just click next =P), in "Show patch category" select "Installable and installed patches"; then look for the NVidia driver (always near the bottom of the list), and click on it once to reinstall. Click Accept and you're all set.

From: Kitten Lulu I know and I tried that first, but it didn't work for me. sometimes you have to select "reload all patches from server" checkbox when choosing a mirror.. for you to be able to see the option again
