I recently went through a problem with the Fedora 2.6.25.4-10.fc8 kernel update where my xserver kept crashing as well as freezing up my whole system. I finally got it fixed so I thought I would pass the word about what to do. I deleted SLVoice from my SecondLIfe folder and everything is working perfectly fine again. I had the same problem with Fedora 9 too(I tried upgrading to that as a fix which didn't work.) I only figured that one out after a reboot went into a "recursive reboot" process on rebooting where I saw that SLVoice was listed in the error messages. This might be just something to the type of machine I have, but this might help someone else.
