... does NOONE else see the same problem? strange.
I'm running the "official" linux client from http://secondlife.com/community/linux-alpha.php on two 32bit suse 10.2 boxes, and both have the same problem... |

Maybe you have a firewall set up on the Linux PCs themselves?
As root if you do iptables -L it should show you all the firewall rules. |

no firewall rules on the linux pcs.
besides, as they say, "it worked before.", or rather, it worked with the last version before the current one. a bit more info about how it happens: I choose a location from the map, search tool, or a landmark, I hit "teleport", the screen goes black, "Contaction region" happens as usual, then "Sending to destination" takes awfully long, and ends up with a bling, a black-and-white SL, and the message "You have been logged out". |

I use only linux.
I created my account on thursday and have been using SecondLife_i686_1_13_3_2 since. Everything worked for me. I was pleasantly surprised and even most impressed with the whole linden offering. Maybe your problem is more distro related. My ony problem started on friday night, (and seems unrelated and off-topic) since when I could not log in anymore. Well. If I run "./secondlife -noinvlib -nofmod -noaudio -noprobe -login Yasmin Nemeth <password>" and just leave it for an hr or two, I may get logged in. This is a current server side bug affecting all clients on all architectures. They're working on fixing it. I don't think that that is related to my original problem. i just tried the first look, and the beta grid linux clients, and teleporting doesnt work in those either. |

I looked at the network traffic with tcpdump, and i had lots of small udp packets going towards the SL servers which had broken checksums. seems that the intel driver has a problem with offloaded checksums, so i disabled those, and afterwards, no more broken udp packets... but still no teleport.

Hi Lance, this may prove relevant: http://secondlife.com/knowledgebase/article.php?id=355 no, it is not relevant. 1. my firewall does not block ANY outgoing traffic; 2. map works just fine; 3. teleporting on windows on the same machine works just fine. |

the same here as Lance told.......
No OUTGOING is blocking at all, map works, intra-sim-tp has been working ('till the last grid-update.....) crossing sim-borders and tp is impossible. OpenSuSE 10.1 (without build-in FW!) Linksys Router/FW (Statefull !) Please find a way! EDIT: Shame on me! I had forgot the running squid............captured all SL-traffic. Shut down the squid....................it works! TP, border-crossing, all fine! I am happy! |

TP, border-crossing, all fine! I am happy! Dude, you ROCK!!! I'm sitting behind a privoxy popup blocker here, with $http_proxy and $https_proxy *always* pointing to it. Guess what, clearing those two variables made teleporting work again. Where's the option in SL to switch off proxy usage? Especially when SL doesn't LIKE using a proxy? Anyways, I've put the following lines in my SL start script: [ -n "$http_proxy" ] && unset http_proxy [ -n "$https_proxy" ] && unset https_proxy and it's working now. bye, [L] |

Great! Glad to see that is now also working for you! Perhaps the Lindens will add these "proxy-thing" into her FAQ........
