I just downloaded the Linux client and tried running it on LInux Mint 4.0. When I tried to launch it I got a "Window Creation Error" and it simply won't open. Anyone seen this?

Probably not running the proper drivers, you have hardware acceleration supported drivers?

This is the actual error I see in the console. Perhaps this will help:

I'm actually not sure at the moment. I was messing with my drivers earlier, and I got a message saying it was running in low graphics mode. However, my graphics chip is in Mint's list, so I selected to activate the driver for my exact chipset. But now when I try to enable desktop effects, they don't work. They did when I first installed Mint though, and I know they work with my graphics processor.

EDIT: Even though I selected my chipset's driver, Mint's configuration tool is changing my selection after I hit "OK." So I guess it's actually using the correct driver right now. I swear...the more things they add to Linux to try to make it easier to use, the more there is for there to go wrong. Looks like they might be going down Microsoft's path...and maybe I won't be using Mint forever.

Linux is fickle, it is NOT easy to use, by any means. They are not going down microshaft's path XP Anyway, you are not using manufacturer drivers, you are using Mint's drivers. Download and install manufacturer drivers, then it should work better

Your system lacks GLX (Glide Library Xtensions ) - support. No 3D acceleration for graphics adapter of your chipset installed appearantly which means you selected an incorrect driver for your purpose. Starting of SL is impossible. Hence your window-creation error.
