Running 1.21.6 - quite often I won't have a 'touch' entry in my pie menu - sometimes it will return after a few teleports - sometimes not.

Is this a client-side problem or a server issue?

I'm not sure it's the same thing you see but - I'm tracking a bug on the Linux viewer that impacts on both HUD touching and mouse steering:

Please read that page, and -next time you get the problem you mentioned- check if mouse steering and HUDs work. If they don't, please comment with your details and vote the bug.

I'm not sure it's the same thing you see but - I'm tracking a bug on the Linux viewer that impacts on both HUD touching and mouse steering:

Please read that page, and -next time you get the problem you mentioned- check if mouse steering and HUDs work. If they don't, please comment with your details and vote the bug.

I have never had that issue, at least, not that I'm aware of. I do agree that OP's problem sounds related to that.

One problem I DO have, and it may or may not be related: Fairly often, if I right-click on an object that is close to the edge of my window, the pie menu will come up and something on the first menu tier will have already been selected. By what I'm guessing, whatever is responsible for drawing the pie menu is not smart enough to draw the menu somewhere where the entire thing can be displayed for the first tier, and it will automatically select whatever menu item my mouse pointer happens to be closest to. This has occasionally made my house go away!

I have a similar problem. I often log into SL unable to click(touch) things, wether it's a HUD button or a prim thing. The touch will come back if you go into Edit mode (Right click > Edit from pie menu) and then close the edit window. (This should fix the touch until your next SL session.. it's not a fix, just a workaround)

I also have Katheryne's problem, where just a simple right click will flash the pie menu and select something, it can be pretty random. We are living risky lives!

A New Problem

This happened with the newest viewer but somehow seems to have affected my settings, I log in no problem but if I try and adjust the camera view my AV disappears and the focus changes so that I can no longer move as normal but seem to be looking at my AV from a third person perspective. Reloading the viewer and going back to an older one doesn't do anything. Everything works fine in Windows and was fine in the previous Viewer in Linux. From the other problems in this thread it would seem that somehow issues have developed relative to the GUI itself providing random problems on various keyboard and mouse inputs, could it be something in the interface between the servers and the linux viewers as windows seems ok.

One thing you could try, and I know how much this sucks, but try removing all your configuration files for SL in your profile and starting from a vanilla install.

Thanks Angel for the suggestion.

I always wear HUDs, so I always had an HUD attached at least when I experienced this bug. Do you think that I should remove HUDs too in order to test this bug?
