It seems as if the insert key is set "on" when i start the client. I have to hit it as i'm not used to this when I go to edit something in a script. (doh) Is it me?

This is standard behavior, as far as I know. As such, it is also the way I am used to things being, and I`d be annoyed if the behavior changed.
Perhaps they could institute a Preferences setting, "Start App with Insert En[Dis]abled"?
Side note: Years ago [long before Second Life], I was used to overtype being default. I wonder when I changed my expectations.
