I'm using an ATI Radeon 3850 with all the latest drivers, and an Athlon 64 x2 5200+ with 2 Gb DDR2 800 RAM. I'm using the latest stable release of Debian.
Any ideas what's happening here?

When posting your system configuration, it is more helpful to cite exact version numbers rather than simply stating "the latest version", as the latter is highly subjective and time-sensitive.
That said: Are you absolutely certain you are using the proprietary drivers as provided by ATI (fglrx)? I'm not 100% certain about Debian, but I believe it uses a restricted driver manager you can use to download and install the proprietary (restricted) drivers - otherwise, check your software sources to see if there is an option for enabling a restricted repository. If you are not 100% sure of which driver you are running, post the output of the following shell command: glxinfo | grep OpenGL _____________________
Of course, its all just another conspiracy, and I'm a conspiracy nut. Need a high-quality custom or pre-fab home? Please check out my XStreetSL Marketplace at http://www.xstreetsl.com/modules.php?name=Marketplace&MerchantID=231434/ or IM me in-world. |
