Hi All!

I am using the Xandros Business 3.0 distribution of Linux on a 2.6 gig Celeron Inspiron. I am having trouble with the arrow keys. I find them difficult to control and am constantly over steering or am running into brick walls.

A buddy who is very familir with Linux, but not Second Life suggested I update my Java.

Is that likely to be the problem? If it is, how do I do it?

Thanks!

As Second Life neither uses nor otherways depends on java, it's quite unlikely to be the problem.

If you like to update Java anyway, first check if your distribution's package manager can do that (e.g. apt on debian can, as well as portage on gentoo). If it can't just go to http://java.com to get it from there.

About the control troubles: That might be a problem with the connection between your computer and the SL SIM servers. If bandwidth is too low or packet loss to hight these effects are quite common.

Btw: Something you'll want to keep up to date to keep SL running are your graphics card drivers.
