After having succeeded in getting voice to run with pulseaudio by forcing the use of the OSS plugin (padsp) it was working fine for about half a day. Now there seems to be a problem of voice disconnecting sporadically. When this happens SLVoice is still hooked up to pulseaudio and functional from the looks of it (bouncy bars for the Microphone input). However also noticed that the module seems to load on occasion multiple times having like 3 or more connections to PA showing up for Mic Input and voice is functional. Fedora 12 - 2.6.31.9-174.fc12.i686.PAE #1 SMP Mon Dec 21 06:04:56 UTC 2009 i686 i686 i386 GNU/Linux

I compiled my own version of openal and use that one with SL. With the version i compiled, theres Alsa Pulseaudio, OSS and Wave enabled. With this Version i forced it to use Pulseaudio directly for normal audio tasks coming from SL by creating a ".alsoftrc" file within my home folder. It's content is:
drivers = pulse
With this audio in is free to use the pulseaudio alsa module. And thats what i set voice to. That seemed to do the trick ^_^

Any chance of letting others try it (upload it somewhere)? I've tried several versions of libopenal.so.1 and only the linden one gets anywhere and thats all crackly until it bombs out.
Call me crazy but if linden could compile for one of the newer versions of OpenAL I think we could quash some of these bugs.
"It's so crazy, it just might work!"

There you go ^_^

It works for me, I hope it works for you too. Just put the two files into the "lib" folder of your SL directory and let it overwrite the older file.

Wow! It works excellent for me. Thanks. I recommend this for anyone using PulseAudio. Works as advertised. No more Voice disconnects.
Thanks AF!
