Hello,
I just tried the byteme omvviewer binary for my amd64 system, but it tried to connect to a test grid. Is there a config file or so, that I can change to connect to the main grid?
Or is there _any_ possibility to do SL under linux? (The official 32 bit release candidate is much slower than the windows version, and i guess this may be caused by the 32bit issue, so i would be really happy if i could use a 64 bit version somehow.)
Thanks for any suggestions!

Thanks for any suggestions! I got 64 bit. Use 32. I find Vista much slower. Press Shift-Ctl-G to swap grids from the dropdown box.

Aehm ... sorry, what do you mean? Do you mean, I shall use the 32bit version, as it _should_ be faster than windows?

Isn't it the same as using the dropdown box via mouse? In other words: i still have no choise for the main grid?
Sorry that I cannot better understand your reply - maybe add some more words? Thanks again.

Either way you cut it, it should be slightly to noticably faster than Windows depending on hardware, whether GL is properly set up, and what you have running in Windows. Running a 32-bit environment is generally easier and better supported in general than 64-bit still. Personally, I wouldn't bother with a 64-bit environment on the desktop until there's real reason to do so other than propellerhead points. YES YES YES YES ))))) > Agni is the main grid. Are you seeing something else? That was that damn little piece of info, that i was missing. I have maybe 20 others (Aditi, Aruna, Durga, Ganga, ...), but I didn't know, taht the main grid is called "Agni". And the best is: I get full sufficient performance/FPS with this 64bit omvviewer. Now finally I can happily forget about my windows installation again, as I won't need it any more. Thank you very much a last time!

The first time I stumbled on that, I was surprised and decided to go through and plug some of the names into the SL wiki. Based on the wiki and various login welcome and failure messages, it appears most are internal sandboxes, Aditi is the public sandbox and Agni's the main grid everyone knows and loves.
