Sadly, No.
Sader, I booted to windows and dwnlded the beta grid client. Even sader still it wont connect either and gives me a "problem with connecting to grid" error. Man... I'm getting depressed. _____________________

I've never tried to run SL on my vmware install, but no luck there either. it stops whilst saying that the video card drivers are out of date.
![]() No luck with wine either. We're locked out! AAAAHH!! |

yeah it won't run on a vmware install of windoze ... doesn't use native 3D video drivers... this is so maddening though ... last time they had no linux beta grid up at all, this time they have one that is not current... and to make matters worse the 105 version just has nominal changes and there's no reason it should be required ... arrrgh!!! furthermore the .105 version is technically not newer since .4 is really .400 ... get your sh!t together Linden! damn. we're paying customers too.

I'm frustrated too, but still... you need to get the facts straight, Devan.
First, every update on the beta test grid is a required update. Why? Because it's there for testing, and if the updates weren't required, people wouldn't be testing the newest version. Second, 4 != 400; 4 < 105 That said, I must add: Dear Responsible Person(s) at Linden Labs: If you wish to maintain a Linux version, you need to make sure it gets tested properly before releases, and the best way to assure that is to make sure there's a download posted *at the same time* as the Windows and Mac versions. Otherwise the final releases will be buggier than they should be, more people will be frustrated with the Linux viewer, and both the reputations of Linden Labs AND Linux will suffer. Please remember also the fact that many Linux users, myself included, have completely abandoned all other operating systems, and have no other option available when it comes to SL. As has been stated before, we're paying customers too! Update: According to Tofu Linden (and confirmed by myself) you can use the current 1.16.0.5 main grid viewer to access the beta grid if you pass the argument --aditi on the command line.
