It's usually been no more than a day or two behind.

Optional updates such as the one just released are often rolled along with the next linux release scheduled. It'd be a bit of extra work to keep up with the windows and mac dev to roll updates as quickly.

Hopefully there will be lots of new things and fixes in the next linux release.

Hello!
From: Merrick Moose
Optional updates such as the one just released are often rolled along with the next linux release scheduled. It'd be a bit of extra work to keep up with the windows and mac dev to roll updates as quickly.
If you can hang in there until Wednesday's release, the Linux Client will get in sync then. Basically, as you say, a couple of hours spent rolling and validating a non-mandatory 1.12.1.x Linux client build is a couple of hours not spent on Linux fixes/features on the 1.12.2.x branch where the alpha-testing is more valuable.

Hopefully there will be lots of new things and fixes in the next linux release.
A reasonable mixture I think. :)

Shiny?

It's been hinted that there were some OpenGL related improvements coming up in thise new release.

I'll echo that sentiment........

Shiny?

Me too. Oh me too. With shiny and file uploads, this client will deserve every inch of the "beta" title.

To Tofu: you have an extra week!

That should be enough time to get everything on our "beta list" working :D

Just kidding. I appreciate all the GREAT work you are doing, and I hope the extra week will also bring some extra Linux Goodies!

It seems that now that the Linux Client is FINALLY getting some action, releases are getting postponed regularly. Is Murphy a member of our LUG? He SHOULD be! :D If only, so that we can kick him out :p

Yeah, it's such a pity that Tofu's excellent work is being held up because of problems elsewhere. On the other hand, the Linux client is already in such better shape than it was even a month or so ago, I can wait another week for the latest round of improvements.

And maybe it'll mean we get the proper file upload dialog :)
