Since upgrading to 1.8.4.7 I've been getting near-constant crashes in the game, usually while rotating the camera or trying to edit. The backtrace is always the same, showing a segfault in display().

My 1.8.4.7 install is clean with no old files copied from any previous install.

I erased my install and tested it again with a stock install. I managed to start the game and stand still for a few seconds before crashing the first time. The second time I quickly opened up the map and teleported a few sims over, but it crashed halfway through the teleport (same backtrace).

Jeff Trilam had a similar problem; in his case the Nvidia drivers had gotten borked somehow. Make sure you've still got accelerated graphics?

These segfaults were due to a bad stick of RAM I've discovered. Please consider this bug closed unless someone duplicates it with another hardware setup.
