I was very please to see that there is a client for Second Life for Linux. I'm a noob to Second Life but have made Ubuntu my OS of choice since I upgraded to Windows Vista (not that I dislike Vista).
I've had no problems with Second Life on the whole except for the ones mentioned in the Readme. Is there anyway of getting the Quicktime movies to play at all in the Linux Client?
The only problem I've had which is not mentioned is that everytime I change to fullscreen mode the client closes. A small problem as I prefer the window mode but a problem nonetheless!
My specs are below:
Ubunu 7.04 CPU: AMD Sempron 2400+ RAM: 1.2 GB ATI Radeon 8500

mplayer should be installed on Ubuntu to make it work with multi media content.

yevka laws but that will NOT make it work IN the secondlife client... there's no support in the linux client for video! The next best thing is looking in the logs for the video url (or in the about land box), and loading that in an external mediaplayer (most recommend VLC here)

Thanks for the feedback. Video support is working internally, I still have to clean it up before it hits official releases. Realistically that means it's at least about a month away, though (I'm juggling several things!).
