Beta grid issue

I downloaded and installed the latest Beta viewer (SecondLife_i686_1_14_1_0_ADITI), but when I attempt to log in, it pops up a dialog saying "A new version of Second Life is available. You must download this update to use the system. Download to your Applications folder?" The only options available are Download or Quit (and Download isn't supported under Linux).

On the console, however, it spits out this message just before it pops up the dialog:

2007-03-30T15:57:53Z WARNING: createXml: Alert: [DownloadMacMandatory]

Is the Linux client identifying itself as a Mac client?

Hi Johanna. I've verified that the 1_14_1_0 package works correctly. The error you see would be if (for some reason) the beta client is trying to connect to the main (agni) grid, instead of the beta (aditi) grid, which is not normal behaviour.

Tofu,

My bad - I was in an older directory, so never mind; it works fine if I actually pay attention to what I'm doing. :)

Still, given the reference to the Applications folder and the message printed to console, does the Linux client identify itself as a Mac?

Yes, for gnarly reasons - not all of the back-end systems comprehend clients reporting themselves as anything except windows and mac yet.
