First, so as to not waste time:

I've run SL on an NVidia GeForce 5600 and until about 10 linux r.c,-s ago, it was good. Starting about 10 release candidates ago, when I walk, eventually I cannot stop walking and the avatar moves through inanimate objects, until, SL logs me out.

Anyone know much about this?

I think you'll find this is lag. You're probably getting this more often when you're crossing a sim border, on an Object that's party on a sim border etc...

Yes, that's exactly it. If I leave an area (go walking around a region) the avatar will not stop walking.

Can I fix this?

Hmm I'm not sure, I've been getting it more often, recently, that's when I am In World.

Leave it for a day or two, if it doesn't improve try contacting Support? And perhaps search the Pjira for an Issue realted.

Good luck! :D

It might be related to packet loss. Packets about your movement are sent to and from the server, I think, and when they are lost, your viewer keeps on doing whatever it was doing until it is told other wise.

Try reducing your bandwidth. If bandwidth is set too high (for your computer and ISP) then the viewer tries to send more than can get there, so you lose packets.

yes, thats what it is, I have had this problem on the windows client, we call it moling, as often you fall through the ground and it does get annoying, but crossing sims does often help with it.
