To everyone who conttributed and/or contributes to the linux side of the SecondLife project, I want to thank you for your time and interest in giving bringing this wonderful world of Second Life to Linux.

As I have onlly dabbled in programming myself, I cannot contribute directly to the code, I can only express my sincere gratitude and appreciation. I am also running the alpha daily and sending in reports on crashes and lock-ups.

As often as it collapses under me, I have only a great appreciation for the opportunity to access SecondLife. Every new release builds my excitement in anticipation of potential stability and improved features.

Thank you.

I'll Add Mine

I'll just throw in my two cents also...

Not too long ago, I finally removed Windows from my primary desktop machine-- the one with the best (albeit old) graphics card-- and installed Linux.

Imagine my surprise when I downloaded the Linux client, and found that (even though there was no sound) it ran much faster than the Windows client had.

Since then, thanks to the incredible work you guys have done, the Linux client has made many strides, and is now every bit the client the Windows one is. The First Look client is even better!

Keep up the great work!

I must add my voice to this thread. :D

I'm running the Linux Alpha client on a x64 machine ( AMD Sempron x64 1.8GHz ) and I really can't complain.

I have been running the Windows client both under XP and Vista (both 32 bit) and the Linux client is faster, AND it lags less !

Since I'm taking by bachelors in CS, I know what a task it is to write good software. I congratulate you on your work so far, and hope that the Linux client will one day surpass the Windows client in all aspects :)

Good Work !
