I was using the Second life client on my OpenSuse 10.2 system.
Then the system crashed and I decided to try and fix it from the 10.3 partition.
I find that second life doesn't work on the 10.3 system, however.
No change in hardware!
I have tried the official viewer, the Cool SL viewer, and the Windlight viewer. Notta.
I am getting window creation errors.
I have the latest Nvidia drivers installed for my geforce 6200.
Why will second life work in 10.2 but not in 10.3?

Window creation errors sound like a fault in the 3D acceleration part of your graphics drivers. I found the other day, the latest NVidia driver release (169.09) appears to have a bug in it, so rolled back to a previous one (100.14.19) because I know that one works, and it's fine now.

Can you confirm that 3D works at all? For instances, what happens if you try "glxgears"?

Works for me almost flawlessly on 10.3 64bits with latest 169.09 and geforce 6200.

Firstlly, Nausicaa I am glad for you that It works on your 64 bit machine but that doesn't solve my problem now does it?
I revisited the graphic settings in Yast and up the resolution on my monitor to 1400 x 900 (24 bit) and now second life works.
This is the highest resolution that my monitor is capable of. I was running at the 1400 x 900 (16 bit) setting which is what I had it on in 10.2.
So, unless any one else has any other comments or suggestions, I want to thank all for reading my post and especially those positive suggestions that I guess I didn't need.
Thank you all.

I just figured that knowing someone else had it working on the very same hardware, with the very same versions *was* indeed an help. Sorry for that.
