Web Browser Error

Yesterday I was able to log into SL without any problems on my Gentoo machine using the client downloaded off of this site. Last night I merged the new Firefox 2 onto my machine and today tried to log into SL. The client loads up until logging in, then locks up on the step that says "Logging in. Second Life may appear to be frozen. Please wait."

Now when I logged in before this screen would flash and go on but this time it won't. When I run it under terminal, the terminal tells me at one point "Unknown control type web_browser."

Tonight I will try to install the binary version of the browser but I believe there is a fault in the client in not detecting the newly installed browser. I'll try to report my findings after I get the binary version of Firefox installed.

I believe the lockup is unrelated to the new Firefox. The error message is always there, because the Linux client does not yet have support for the mozilla library.

You are right, after some testing I've gotten it to work with the new firefox again. I believe now that the client was just having a hard time connecting.
