Hi all. I kinda got XGL and SL to play nice with each other (screenshot ) however running into a few issues:

The fonts get garbled after a few minutes, making all text unreadable.
The AV is stuck in the "edit apperances" pose, regardless of what they should be
Some rendering issues.

I could not get Wine + SL running at all (complains about no 32bit screen mode).

I think XGL + Compiz compatibility is heavily dependant on exactly what version of each you are running, what drivers and video card you have, and possibly the contents of /dev/random (bad humor). When I tried it everything ran perfect except that it would occasionally lock up the machine, which is to say it didn't work well at all. Running without the XGL server it was perfectly stable, so if you switch XGL off at the login and don't experience any of the problems you mentioned you can try today's CVS of XGL + Compiz, or just not use them when you play SL until it matures a bit.

It's called the BLEEDING edge for a reason. XGL + Compiz is unstable at best running most things....

Now, with that out of the way may I be the first to say "flippin sweet!" I love my XGL and Compiz...so knowing that SL at least kind of works there is at least a ray of sunshine. As it is I am stuck with X and Gnome/Fluxbox.... :(
