running tar -xjvf SecondLife_i686_1_12_0_51742.tar.bz2 I receive the following msg:
------------- Cannot change ownership to uid 1002, gid 100: Operation not permitted tar: Error exit delayed from previous errors -------------
running ./secondlife-bin I recieve this msg:
--------------- ./secondlife-bin: error while loading shared libraries: libxmlrpc.so.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory ----------------
I am runing Ubuntu 6.06 LTS with working DRI. I've installed SL on /media/j. Do I need to set up the bin and library folders to be read like the system lib and bin files? If so what file do I edit and what do I add?
Regards
Dan

I'm on Kubuntu 6.06 LTS, I have the nvidia drivers installed, and although I didn't get the problem with extracting the tar file, I did get the same message about the error libraries. Another friend of mine experienced the same thing. Any ideas?

Again, again, again, ang 1000x again: From: someone running ./secondlife-bin I recieve this msg:
do NOT run "bin/secondlife-bin" on your own. Use the "./secondlife" script that's supposed to set the link path for all the libraries you need. Please, people, read the forums, follow the instructions.
