Moved this from Feature Feedback, but couldn't delete it from there:

MUCHLY. The powers and abilities are a huge improvement, and the flexibility of the roles almost obviates the need for an increase in total group memberships...but I used to think 1GB ram was more than I'd ever need...

But I regret that I can't give separate roles separate privileges in multiple parcels deeded to a group, so I still need to create multiple groups with redundant roles. Before I start doing just that, is there any chance that future updates will make this possible?

I love the idea of them but still have some issues with receiving IM's from the group after opting for the group mute.

I would like to see the ability to mute *general chatter* in a group - without muting *notifications* - there are advantages in joining certain groups for various reasons, but no advantage to seeing 50 people just saying "hi" (newbie attack!) or someone in a bad mood chewing out a single person over the line where hundreds or thousands of people can see it who don't want/need to.

Thus, my suggestion is either:

1) Give users the ability to mute general chatter

2) Allow admins the option to make it an "only admins can post" type group. i.e., announcements only.

One or the other would do the trick.

:)
