Nova Albion 4th Anniversary

This is to get the ball rolling on our plans for the city's 4th anniversary. Along with the celebration comes an expansion of the city regions with the forthcoming addition of Bay City.

Osprey Therian has mentioned an idea for a parade with BIG balloons. I love that! Let's start working our brains feverishly on all the ideas we'd like to see happen for this noteworthy occasion.

about when will this take place?

The official anniversary is Sunday, March 23rd. I'd like to see events all weekend, and repeat some at different times, so folks from all over the world can participate. Maybe starting Friday, March 21 (4:00pm SLT) and ending Sunday, March 23 (10:00pm SLT) or so.

what is this about a time capsule that the brickwarmers are getting? can you explain because another prominent Nova Albion group would like to contribute too.

i just remembered i will be gone that saturday. =/

Someone approached me when I was at the Infohub and said that some of their Miramare Brickwarmer friends had noticed the City Slickers time capsule on the top of the pedestrian bridge and had wondered if they could create one as well. I thought that would be fine and told them I could place it when they were ready. This sounded like a separate capsule, just for the Brickwarmers to put some keepsakes in. I can place it in one of the walls they sit on so it won't even take up any extra prim space on the parcel. I probably shouldn't have acted so quickly and run it by the City Slickers group before I made any promises/decisions on behalf of the group. Might be a good time to think about official procedures and guidelines for adding to the Infohub.

The City Slickers already have a time capsule on top of the bridge that anyone can add to. We can make it City Slickers-only or continue to allow anyone to add to it. If the latter, we can just have the Brickwarmers drop their stuff on it.

p.s. The City Slickers time capsule is set to be opened on Nova Albion's 7th Anniversary, March 23rd, 2011.

That's a bummer, Caroline. There are activities being planned for Friday and Sunday (the official anniversary) as well. Hopefully one of those days will work for you?

Thanks for posting. It's cool to see someone new who is interested in the city and makes it one of their hangouts. I'm glad you enjoy the Four Corners! i can make it Friday, on Sunday I should be able to depending on how early you start. This is Easter Sunday too, could be a conflict with some.

Excellent! It may prove that Friday and Saturday are the busier celebration days if a lot of folks have Easter commitments. There will definitely be some activities on Sunday for those that don't on the official anniversary day. Nice reason to spread it out over a few days so that the schedule can be flexible for all who want to participate.



Yes, there is a time capsule from the 2nd Anniversary. It is set to be opened in 2011.

Oh Thank you very Much Salazar!. I will help in anyway I can and try to come up with something. Maybe this would help..do you have any written hystory and or pictures of past events? Gives me an idea of what to expect.

Hey folks! I have an idea to add to the brainstorm board. Just tossing it out there. After reading as much as I could find, and seeing some pics that Salazar put a link to in another thread..showed pics of the first SIMS...I thought...Back in Time. Can't change the Sims back to what they were..to big an undertaking...but what about the people? I bet they didn't wear the prim count we do now. So how bout everyone wears a "newbie" look. Detatch all attatchments...(will help in the lag dept). Can even have a contest. Contestants set...Make yourself look like Ponochio!...then they do the best they can by editing thier appearance to look like Ponochio....or any other character you choose. Or how about a Salazar look alike contest
Anyway. Just a thought.

Except for Caroline Apollo (Miramare), Marcos Fonzarelli (Miramare), Osprey Therian (Grignano) and LisaHot who hangs at the InfoHub, I haven't had any response or contact with anyone regarding the anniversary. So let's keep this year's anniversary simple, spontaneous and fun. i thought I'd propose a schedule for the weekend that will give a framework to whatever folks want to do and make sure that there are plenty of options for folks to participate, depending on their schedule.
