Hi everyone :)

You might have all heard about the shocking results of our last relay for life auction. It's really seem to have made the rounds in the blog circles.

Have we got a surprise in-store for you! Xyni Platini, talented artist sibling of the always loveable and irrepressible Torley Torgeson, has been toiling through the night to give us something just in time for the Relay for Life Auction tomorrow. (!)

It is with great pleasure I present to you, the Senecio II, a special edition one-of-a-kind Dominus Shadow.

Hi-res Picture

Xyni's really outdone herself with this wild texture set. The pictures really don't do it justice. You can see it in-world at the Dominus Motor Company store.

This auction will take place at the Relay for Life auction this weekend, with 100% of the proceeds being donated to the cause.

The actually auction location is Jeraku (139, 174, 26)

The schedule is:
Friday, July 21st, 7pm PST bidding begins
Sunday, July 23rd, 4am PST bidding ends

I'm actually a bit fuzzy on the actual bidding details (I'm not in charge of the auction process) but I believe there is some sort of scripted auction box where you can enter your bids. I've been warned that bidders must periodically check back to see if you've been outbid - there's no automatic outbid notification.

For questions about the auction, please contact Torrid Midnight.

Thanks everyone that's helped get us this far, and thanks for reading! We'll be checking up on this thread if you'd like to post questions or comments here.

This special edition Dominus Shadow will be powered by the highly anticipated DS 2.0 engine.

Happy bidding!

SENECIO ARTIST STATEMENT
BY XYNI PLATINI

After a half a year absence from Second Life, it gives me great joy to have worked on the Senecio II Dominus to be used in the auction for Relay for Life! Complete with extra curvy runic patterns not unlike those of the contours of a ripe peach or an exceptionally healthy female biped in the spring time, it is a common question of whatever happened to the precursor model the Senecio I.

Since logic dictates that if there is a Senecio II, there had to be a Senecio I at one point in time, allow me to narrate the story of what happened to the Senecio I it died. Okay, realistically, I screwed up when working on it and it flew very, very, very far away. Since then, I have not seen it again *sweatdrop*, although Francis Chung did spot it floating around Frucee Tower at one point in time, I have not seen it myself again after this and a few technical issues to resolve, the Senecio II was born. Anyway, now I just tell the Senecio II that her "mommy" became a star in the sky it's half true at least (And the lie works on 4 out of 5 children, folks!). Oh yeah... the Senecio is indeed female, don't ask how I know - long story there.

So then, to wrap things up, you may wonder why I named the model the Senecio II. It is rather simple really and can be explained in four beautiful words:

Minor - Lapse - In - Judgement.

Okay, realistically, despite the fact that a "Senecio" is probably only extremely exciting for chronic allergy sufferers, I find it to be a linguistically astounding word, just the way it slides off the tongue is sheer awesomeness *Beams with happiness*! Needless to say, I couldn't have remotely completed this project without Francis Chung's endless barrel of patience or support from Torrid Midnight and Torley Linden who have my greatest of gratitude. I hope the new owner of the Senecio enjoys it immensely and takes good care of it, giving it routine virtual oil checks and making sure to thoroughly wipe off people who get stuck on the windshield... should the new owner be evil incarnate ^_-.

As the most fortunate winner of the Senecio II....I must say...

ZOMG!!

This is the most amazing vehicle I have ever had the privilege of owning in Second Life.
The scripting is flawless..the effects are indescribable...the texturing is breathtaking.
We have it poised for dispaly in Amsterdam for those who did not have an opportunity to see it at Relay for Life. She looks ravashing just sitting there. It would be a shame to tuck such a masterpiece away in a folder. I cannot say enough. *radiant beams*

We have put her through her paces in multiple sim environments and she just PURRRRZZZ through them all.

Congratulations Francis and Xyni you have created an SL benchmark not soon to be surpassed. And Kudo's to you both for contributing to such a worthy cause.

PS: Francis if this is what we can expect after your hiatus...the question begs...Are you planning another?

As the most fortunate winner of the Senecio II at the recent Relay for Life auction, I felt compelled to post the following review...

ZOMG!!

This is the epitome of design perfection...the scripting is flawless..the effects are riveting and the texture design is breathtaking.

We have put her through her paces in the last 2 days and she just PURRRRRZ through every sim environment. I must point out that takes 4 sims end to end to truly appreciate this beast :-) What a rocket! I have owned many vehicles in my soon to be 3 year tenure in SL, the Senecio II will be the bechmark for a long time to come.

We put her on display outside of BabyDollz in Amsterdam, she draws a crowd just sitting there, ready to pounce. People actually ASK if they can take a picture with it. NO KIDDING! It would be a travesty to tuck her away in a folder. If you didnt get a chance to see her at the Relay for Life auction, feel free to stop by. BUT DONT SCRATCH THE PAINT!

Kudo's to Francis and Xyni for their selfless donation of time and talent to such a worthy cause!

PS: The question begs...Francis, if this is the product of a 6 month hiatus, are you planning another soon?

PSS: If youre REALLY lucky you MIGHT coax Fyre Raine for a test drive, but dont count on it ;P
