I released some female avatar shapes. Check the thread here :D

Any suggestions on how to solve the problem I mentioned would be appreciated!

Hmmm, it seems you are selling them with the new residents in mind, i don't see the price in your post but expect them to be cheap. I wouldn't worry about some leeches, you are doing this as a extra service, to give people a decent shape that goes well with your clothes. In that thought you might even consider giving them away for free. But that's up to you.

Having it mod is pretty important imho, that way people can alter and change them to reflect themselves. One Torrid avy is nice, 2 might be better, but dozens the same looking avies is a bit much. :p

I do understand your worry, its allways crappy when someone else is making money on your work. But i think in this case your customers should get the benefit of the doubt.

Well, I suppose I should just not worry about other people copying them or selling them, etc. It would be one thing if this was the only thing I depended on for income in SL but it's not. I think I'll just change them to have modify permissions and go on trust that people won't cheat :P.

I just want to say that these shapes are great. I'm not just saying that because I know Torrid but because I know from her helping me with my shape when I had no clue lol. Sorry ladies but a lot of female avs in world are terribly out of proportion, I said a lot not all! I hope you don't run into any problems with people ripping the shapes and reselling for way higher but then again this is SL and you know I've had my fair share of being ripped off.

Torrid, People will cheat. It's happened time and time again. So, you have to base your decision on fact, not trust...and then do what you're gonna do.

People will cheat, because with freedom comes the good AND the bad. If you don't mind the cheating, let people modify them.

Question: I've never bought a shape, so I don't know...are the slider numbers visible so that maybe someone who is learning could see the numbers you used and keep the part of the shape they like while changing things they don't like to create an avatar all their own? Just thinking that would be helpful for newbies.

Another great idea would be to donate a couple av's you've created to NCI or the Shelter and maybe someone (maybe even me) could teach a class on the sliders to newbies.

Nice job on the shapes. :)

That's something I was thinking about too since selling shapes has been an idea I've been tossing around lately. I wanted to make them mod so people could change the faces and not be identical, but it seems too risky like you said.

Another idea, if you have the time for it, might be to allow people to make their own face on a different av and give you the numbers to incorporate it into your shape for them before you sell it, that way they have some customization options but still won't be able to see the numbers. Seems like it might be a bit much, but just an idea that pooped into my head. :P

Your shapes do look great though, I saw them earlier today, and I wouldn't put it past someone to buy them all and copy your work, it just sounds like something that would come naturally to some people here in SL.

Ya know, I had considered making shapes. But I dont think I could make better ones than these. I'm glad you did this. And my skins go well on them too ^_^

THANK you torrid. I need good shapes to model female stuff I make when I don't have time to grab a friend to pose.

I don't know how you ladies make your avs so attractive. I've tried, and they always end up awful! This will be SO handy.

Forseti I didn't even think about that until you said it haha. That's a good idea to have them on hand just for modeling purposes :D.
