I'm a Londoner, that I know there's just no point trying to book any venues or do any planning from now until early January: But on the other hand, I also know that January is a superb time to get City livery halls, function rooms or the Conservatory at the Barbican for a bit of a meet-up. It's also long enough to see if we can get in far-flung reps, like the odd Linden, and run a few cables hither and yon so Sl can be projected up on a handy wall.
