This year we will be gathering on August 24-26th in Chicago. Now I know a lot of you were thinking October … however the entire city was sold out of meeting space and the few hotel rooms that were open were very expensive. The board took into consideration the entire event experience and worked for weeks finding the location that has the best combination of room rates, guest services, technology support, at the best price for you! We selected a property that meet our collective needs best. We took a lot of time pouring over feedback from the San Francisco 2006 SLCC and used that as our starting point. We will release registration details and hotel rooming information in the weeks to come. We can share that the cost of registration will be in the range of $165 - $195 and will include breakfast snacks and lunch on both Saturday and Sunday as well as some awesome musical performances and conference materials. The event is being held at the Hilton Chicago and the hotel rates with our block is $159 per night before tax. THE ROOM BLOCK IS NOT SET UP YET SO PLEASE DO NOT CALL TO BOOK A ROOM AT THIS RATE YET! We are all very excited about SLCC 2007 and will get you all details as soon as we have them. Source: http://slcc2007.wordpress.comWe hope to see you there - more details to come! Regards, Jennyfur

Anyone interested in organizing one?----Bella Selene There was an SLC done in the California area just last year. You're in luck though - cali is a popular place, and there's quite a few gatherings on a regular basis. You should have plenty of luck finding a gathering before too long. - Newfie Pendragon

Just curious what anyone who has been to the past SLCC's thought if it, what they learned and if it was worth the registration and trip costs. Just wondering if it's something I should even consider.

Hi Sarah, in the past they have had special breakout sessions that discussed economics, growth, and other special interest topics. Events that seemed to catch a lot of peoples interest was the live music and of course the opportunity to meet others from the world of SecondLife. It might be a good idea to talk to Jennyfur and inquire directly as to what sessions will be offered this year. A conference is only as good as you make it and those trying to do this years SLCC have worked hard trying to bring it all together and make it happen. If you do go, enjoy every moment, take lots of pictures, and tell everyone hi for those of us that can't go.

None of my major friends are going but I thought it would be cool to meet other people who's lives are as filled with SL as mine, and am interested in seeing what the seminars offer and learn. My only worry was I really have no idea what to expect if I were to sign up.
