Second Life does cross into Real Life

Hiya... my 'story' in a nutshell goes like this...

I'm from New Zealand.... and my avatar is Beachy Jewell.

I stumbled upon Second Life and decided to explore this amazing place.
I met a great guy (Gebo - from Australia) here in Second Life back in early June this year at Boogie Beach.... we immediately formed a very close bond and friendship; and at the same time, falling madly for each other; and then we actually met in 'real life' in September this year - here in New Zealand... and WOW! it was all brilliantly magical and fabulous - so much better than either of us ever expected.

I'm going over to Australia to spend a month with him over Christmas time... and then he is moving over here to New Zealand, permanently to live with me.
It is the most amazing relationship I've ever been in.... and it's all thanks to Second Life!

Second Life relationships may not work out for everyone, but it has definitely worked for Gebo and myself! YAY! )

Congrats Beachy. I've been using SL for about two years now and I wish something like that would happen to me. LOL

Transplanted about 2-1/2 months ago from Arizona to Alberta, Canada to be with my SL man Tygers Dagger in Real Life! It's working out like a DREAM. We spent 2 months getting our feet on the ground together in RL and are back now in SL figuring out what we're going to do now that we have the power of our RL bond to back us.

YES PEOPLE IT DOES HAPPEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

it certainly DOES happen. I met my SL/RL love in April of this year at Bubblegum Music Factory. We finally met in RL in October and I'm packing my house to move in with him in two weeks. Congrats to those that have made it!

there are many MANY cases of sl going to rl...take me for example, with the wonderful man i met in sl now for two and a half years real life with our 10 month old baby here in canada and i predict many MANY more cases to come

To add to this happy thread I met my now RL partner in SL early this year, we got married in SL in June and I moved from the UK to be with her in Holland in July and things just keep getting better and better.

After all the moans and groans we hear about SL it certainly brought me more riches and happiness than I could ever imagine in the form of my special and wonderful lady

Wow! So many good stories! I met my RL love of my life on SL too (at the end of 2006) and married her in June 2007. She is wonderful !

It is encouraging to read so many positive stories. How and where did each of you meet your mates in SL for the first time? For example, during an event, at a club, while exploring, through a friend, etc.

Well, for me, Dexter, it was that I was "with" someone else, as was Tygers at the time, and when I was looking through the Events calendar for something for me and my SL "friend" to do one night, I saw a grand opening ad for a club. Something told me to go, and I arrived there just before my "friend" signed on. I walked in, and the club owner, Tygers Dagger, greeted me. I felt it immediately, it's really rather inexplicable. He and I fought it like hell, pardon my French, because of our SO's in SL, but eventually we couldn't fight it anymore.

I only visited his club 3 times, because I was afraid of what might happen, but he would IM me when he was lonely and just wanted to chat. It culminated in him coming one evening to Phat Cat's where I was manager and hostess at the time. He went and danced with someone and when I got off, I did as well. But we were chatting with each other and it was one of those "I really REALLY would rather be dancing with him/her!" things. That night, because of this, we did finally get together and spent a whirlwind 3 days just chatting on SL. Then it moved to Skype and talking to each other for real. We'd stay on the Skype for HOURS (literally) on end and I started working with him to build up a bigger and better club. Finally we decided we needed to be together for real, that this was the real thing and that could not be ignored, so I picked up and moved to Canada to be with him.

There were some bumps in the road and obstacles to overcome, but I will NEVER regret it. I am WAY too happy to ever regret anything.

We now just bought and opened a new club called Star Dance Club, a classy place for couples and singles and people who are tired of only jazz music or of the regular "night club" scene. Tygers is the DJ and it's his music stream that's playing 24/7. Anyone can search for it in-world or IM me in world if you're interested. Our grand opening was last night and went quite well.

I'm really interested in how others met too! It's fascinating and heartwarming!

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!!!

Well, I posted this almost a year ago, that being said, everything is still great. I moved to Chicago from Detroit to be with my love that I met in SL and this summer he and I were married in Vegas. I couldn't be happier! I've met quite a few of my SL friends as well and it has brought all of our friendships to a whole new level.
