I'm in Portland as well. There are quite a few Portlanders that I'm aware of. At one point (possibly still) there was even a replica of NW Portland somewhere out there. |

I'm soooo close to Portland... I'm in Vancouver, WA, so just across the I-5 bridge into Washington State. I know that a SL resident was trying to coordinate a Portland get-together back in June or July, but it never happened.

Dallas area (as in near Independance and Salem, not The Dalles and the gorge area... and yes, I've had oregonians think I ment The Dalles when I say Dallas.)

All volunteer NW Portland oriented SL project

Hello Mitshiko Truss -- and MeiLin Miranda, I remember you! This is Ty, I used to have the NW 21st Avenue build in Bonga but gave it up (long story)... the good news is I bought a sim in Haetae (122, 130, 121) and am in the process of rebuilding NW 21st between Hoyt and Irving from scratch (with the Century 21 theater, Muu Muu's, the Gypsy, Quick Stop and more), it should be much better this time.
The intent is to recreate part of Portland so locals can hang out with friends or relatives who have never been to Oregon via SL. Many of the people working on this block in RL have family far away (in other US states as well as South America, the Middle East, and Europe). It's also intended to promote an "ordinary" Portland neighborhood and prepare for having RL/SL mirror events, so that RL people could talk to and party in real time with people in other parts of the world.
If any of you would be interested in helping make this become a reality, I need builders and especially people who can make some graphics based on photographs I have from the RL street. If any of you are interested in this all-volunteer project just IM me inworld!
