Whats this about???

A Note From Moo Money:

Every year of SLCC, the pricing to attend goes up. After they announced San Francisco, I was disappointed, but decided to check out base pricing at the Marriott anyway. It was 289 + tax, or 332 total per night. I realize that this is before a discount, so let's knock 50 bucks a night off for a base estimate, so it's 239, or 275 with tax. That's 1100 for 4 nights, because they extended the convention by a day. Now let's add 200 for a convention ticket, even though I wonder where they'll make up that extra day with breakfast and lunch. Then let's add in a plane ticket of around 500.

As you can see, that already adds up to 1800 USD. Now let's tack on 400 for miscellaneous food and entertainment expenses. That's 2200!

They claimed that Vegas was more expensive than San Francisco, but Vegas is in a huge economic slump. They're begging for business, and some hotels are even as low as 20-35 dollars a night! I priced out a plane ticket and hotel from Austin to Vegas and came up with 295 to stay off strip for 3 days. With no convention ticket and the same 400 entertainment expense, we have 695. The total savings? 1505 USD.

Now I realize that you could stay on strip for 50-100 a day and it would still be cheaper than the San Francisco convention. You're also still entitled to go to SLCC. However, I wanted to offer a better, more cost effective alternative to those on a budget.
