I saw that the MMO track has an entire hour dedicated to SL. Has anyone seen information for any meetups or other discussions about SL at DC this year?

Not yet, but I will be there.

the electronic frontiers track usually features an SL panel as well. The new alternate history track has a broader online panel that they were recruiting SL representatives for, so there will probably be some discussion of Caledon, New Babbage et al there. As far as meetups go, I haven't seen anything yet, but if there is one I'd love to know about it.

There is a panel at 10 am (?) on Saturday morning in the MMO track and another in the Wheel of Time track. I hope to be at both.

The EFF track isn't having a SL track this year, apparently. I searched through their schedule online, and couldn't find anything remotely related to SL. Prolly a good thing. SL is kind of a waste of their track, since there is so much juicy goodness in the copyright sessions and other legal/ethical issues to consider.

Well the panel last night wasn't much, the invited speaker wasn't there and a fill-in just started a general chat. The topic was about China passing a law to tax virtual income and Australia is working on it. Some folks in SL were invited to participate but that was mostly one guy chatting with friends while we watched. There is an SL discussion for the Wheel of Time track so I will be there Sunday morning for that also.

I will add that the 5-hour energy drinks are really great and I've been able to keep a pretty good schedule despite my alcohol intake!

Yeah, was kinda disappointing overall. I think I will prod the MMO track people to do a better representation of it for next year.
