Anyone else meet in SL then meet them in RL?

I love these stories about people meeting on the Internet. Im 20 she's 25, im in the air force, and met my girl Orchid Glitterbuck online at DWA in SL. We've been together for a year now, and after 10 months of it we met in person when I went on leave. I couldn't see this relationship ever ending. What good/bad stories does everyone else have?

Well we meet in real life i started playing seond life she got sick of me playing second life then she tryed it out. Now she wont stop playing second life, we now live and work and play in secondlife reallife and now it seems we will just have to both goto the after life together as well.

Forever together in this life that life and the afterlife and any other life we can find.

Glad that other people in SL have happy beginnings. I feel like less of a minority now. With all the drama that goes on in SL I'm glad that people can avoid that and form real bonds. I think a lot of people forget that there are REAL people behind those avatars.

Don't really know what else to say - I'm just greatful for all the awesome friends I've made in SL (especially Bebop). He's my best friend and I can't imagine him not being in my life.

I'm 24, she's 29, left second life for 8 months and came back...I met her at the Edge club my second night back. She accidentally IM'd me and kept appologizing. Bcuz of previous online relationships I promised myself to never get involved online again, so I kept saying to her it's ok for the accidental IM and closed the IM window. But she kept saying how bad she felt about it...lone n behold we've been together in SL for 5+ months. I drove out to see her on my bday (Dec. 30th) and met her. She was more than I expected. We laid on the bed in my hotel room and just held each other. It's like the whole world came to a complete stop and it was just us. She's my one n only and my world. I hope many of u can experience a love so deep that I have for this woman.

I'm 27 & Kismet is 21... we met on Sims Online & then moved to SL a few months later. The day we met, he was moving in w/ me from TN. I think we said 'i love you' like 10 days into the relationship.. it was an instant attraction, like we knew each other ages ago. When he moved here, it wasn't like he was coming to meet me, it was like he was finally coming home. Now it's me, him, & my (now OUR) 5 y/o living a happy family life. I've never been in a more meaningful & loving relationship.

I think it's awesome to hear these stories! And i am so glad we ahven't heard a negative one yet. When you get to know someoen online I feel you get to know a deeper part of them than normal face to face conversation can bring....

I am hapily maried already, so I woulnd't expect to fall in love myself on SL, but I have already formed a very strong friendship or two! And friendship isn't something I take lightly.

I am engaged in RL and happy but I started using There.com with a friend from work and met {D} We had a blast together learning how to build things and how to stream music and DJing, I then tried SL becasue of some friends from THERE and instantly fell in love with it casue I knew {D} could become a DJ and actually do a great job. He proposed to me on air and for whatever reason I just melted and actually started really being in love with him. He is so awesome, well we broke up he was always DJing and I was not doing alot, trying to build, script, lol just making a nice home. I was so depressed and it really took alot to come back to life. Now why is that, I mean I Love RL so why was I so hurt here. It scares me. In Any case hopefully a bunch of us will meet in SF this summer , I certainly hope so, Me and {D} are still friends and I love the short time he spends with me chatting at the end of the night although its hard sometimes. I guess my question is whether or not this is normal, It really bothers me that I cant explain why I am so sad sometimes, I guess I just need to make friends and try to not be so attached but dang D is FUN. LOL anyway Id love to hear from others. It seems people are always hooking up for a short time and breaking up when it comes to SL relationships. Might as well be an escort, no Mr Rights but afew Mr Right Nows might be nice. I guess I wont be the happy homemaker LOL

We met in Sociolotron and were both digusted. I had just started SL and introduced her to it. After 4 or 5 months, we got married in SL, and met in RL. Over the course of the next year, we both traveled to see each other and it was fantastic. Due to distance and other RL circumstances that I can't go into, we have stopped seeing each other, but we are still in touch and will forever be best friends.

you filmed a 'mock' wedding for us actually Bebop as an advertisment for our business lol wasn't quite like you filmed it but it all feels like a fairy tale sometimes anyway! <everyone give a hand to the talented Bebop Vox!!!>

it actually happened something like this :

....we saw each other across a crowded room, filled with smoke and fire<ummm yes fires that paulie set>.... the music was pounding, the crowd deafening, so many people you could hardly see your dance partner <um no it wasn't paulie at the time>....

so I angled my camera to get a better look and that's when he saw my tag, I was working as a Dancer at the time, and he offered to be the "Gentleman" and he's been nothing but extraordinarily wonderful ever since...

from the all night convo's in SL, to the looooooooooooooong convo's on our cell phones, to the plane ride he endured just to meet me....

and over a year and a half later he's still here and Life IS Good! My man,paulie femto, most never get past his furry face, or flaming crotch or smart ass mouth but if you do, you'll see an amazing man...

I am, right now, on Sprite Quartermass' computer. We have known each other for almost 5 years now through various online venues, and yesterday we met for the first time in the Real World. It's creepy how you can know someone so well, know things about them that no one else does, but when you finally have them face to face, it's so scary.

We are starting to get over the initial shock and shyness, and it's becoming slightly more like our interaction in SL. Still pretty weird, though!

I've also met Feem Lomax in RL. He came to stay with me for a couple days last October. Had an awesome time. It seems, though, that the shyness and awkwardness seemed to wear off between him and I a lot faster than it is between me and Sprite. I guess when you know someone solely in an online setting for a very long time, you get accustomed to it. And the longer it goes on, to suddenly break that.. it's jarring! Not in a bad way, really, it's just very different.

Different or not, though, I'll still have a very hard time going home.


Update: I'm home now, but it's alright, because I have still never been happier in my life. I just love being part of an SL-to-RL success story. ^^
