I live in the states, but I've been there 3 times, totaling about 2 months time or so. I used to do "show control" and did programming for the "Festivals of Singapore" exhibit on Sentosa Island. Wonder if that's still there - been over a decade now... Fascinating city/country. I still remember the Banana Leaf Apollo, the Hindu (I believe) temple near by, Raffles, hawker centres, roti prata (mmmm), durian (urgh), Sentosa of course, and some weird experiences w/ western food: Bacon & Eggs fried in fish oil, Curry chicken and Garbanzo beans on Pizza hut pizza (buffet), steak that may have got the fish oil treatment (not sure) and mexican food in a part of the world where most people don't really "get" cheese. Anyway, Hi from nearly the exact opposite side of the planet. |
