Excuse my lack of German, can someone give me the translation or confirm the following, it's for a sign on a shop door:

Enter <== is there a single word translation for this?

Exit <== is 'Ausgang' correct?

thank you in advance,

Dekka

Enter in which context?

Enter as an english Sign? Wouldn't that rather be "Entrance" as the opposite to "Exit"?

Enter would be Eintreten but Entrance -> Eingang would fit better to Exit -> Ausgang.

entrance = Eingang
exit = Ausgang

(German noons are written with a capital letter!)

In German we don't use the expression "enter here" on doors, we use the German word for entrance = Eingang.

leo.org or dict.cc are good translators, but as the entrance / enter example shows it's usefull to ask native speakers as you did :)

Danke für die Wiederholung der vorherigen Beiträge...

Erstaunlich, wie eine solch simple Frage Leute veranlasst, sich in den Vordergrund zu drängen, obwohl das Thema schon durch ist.
