Does being in the Instructors include Help Island access?
If not, why not?
It seems logical to me that instructors would able to help out new users.

Hey, come on, this question came up in a trivia game, and I said being an instructor did include Help Island access, and the game master said it didn't.
Surely someone who is in the Instructor's group and not in Live Help, Mentors, or Greeters, has tried to go to Help Island and thus knows the answer to this question.
Expiring minds want to know.

I just tried it. (Had to get my alt, who had a landmark that she saved while she was still on Help Island, to pass it over; you can't find Help Island with the normal map tools.) Didn't work -- got the message "Could not teleport. You are not allowed into the destination."
Now you know.

Now you know. What is the rationale for that, I wonder? Seems like LL would want to take advantage of every knowlegeable person who's willing to help.

Have you applied to the Mentor's Group

Hi Suezanne,
I'm in both Instructors and Mentors. For both, I applied and was accepted. Have you tried applying specifically for the Mentor's group? Upon acceptance, I was given a HUD attachment to wear when mentoring. It allows me a private channel to speak with other mentors as well as access to Help Island. Only when I wear it can I type Help Island in on the Map and have it show up.
I'm sure you'd be wonderful as a Mentor! Why not apply?
