Where is a good SL education forum?

I'd like to disuss the possibility of having a SL exhibition of work by final year design students from a UK university. But this forum does not seem too active. Don't mean to criticize, but it would be useful to find a more active forum geared towards education - particularly design or art education at university or college level.

Are there other forums where those interested in teaching and learning - design or otherwise - gather? It would be useful to get the views of others who might have either had an exhibition or are interested in sharing their views on the opportunities for such an event.

You might have some luck at this address: https://lists.secondlife.com/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/educators.

Also, you could send an email to LL's education coordinator, Pathfinder Linden, at pathfinder@lindenlab.com .

Also, might want to see if the folks at the New Media Consortium group can help. They have inworld groups that start with NMC, and have a web site at http://www.nmc.org .

Might find someone that knows something useful in the groups Art & Artists Network or Art Gallery Owners.

Pathfinder has a new job...it appears that Blue is his replacement.

Pathfinder has a new job...it appears that Blue is his replacement.

http://blog.secondlife.com/2007/03/14/good-news-and-bad-news/

I had read the news in the blog linked to above, which includes the following passage:
From: someone
The GOOD news is that Path is charged with very exciting task of setting up a satellite office in the Boston Area! (So if you’ve been considering applying to Linden Lab, but didn’t want to leave The Hub, please re-consider!) As a New-Englander myself I can say, with an accent and without a doubt, that he’s the guy for the job. Luckily, he’ll still be the evangelist and general resource for Education in SL as we expand, which continues to be highly appropriate considering the abundance of educators in the Boston area.

The emphasized passage above suggests to me that Pathfinder is an appropriate person for the OP to send their message to. Of course, an email can be sent to two places at once with no trouble. Perhaps the Linden staff can further clarify who the point man for RL educational matters is.

There a page at http://secondlife.com/education, which might prove of value to the OP, and that page includes a link to a possibly useful resource, http://www.simteach.com/wiki/index.php?title=Second_Life_Education_Wiki .

Going to the http://secondlife.com/community/search.php? site, selecting Groups from the dropdown menu, and and putting "education", "university", "college", etc. as search terms yields a number of groups that appear to be related to RL universities, such as Arizona State U., University of Cincinnati General, and so on. Once you find the name of a group in the lists that search produces, then you can look for the group in the inworld group search and see if it seems like one worth investigating further.
