Based upon your feedback and suggestions, today we pushed an "on/off" switch for your Greeter Profile, which you can toggle on the Volunteer Management page in your Account on the web site. This means you are now able to control when you can be chosen as a Greeter. When your click the "Turn On" setting it means your profile will appear as a Greeter choice during registration. When you select “Turn Off” it will not be visible. This will help when you have already met up with one new resident and don’t want to be selected again or that you can turn off your profile a bit before you log off to prevent missed Greeter opportunities. I'm hoping this will offer a big step for you the volunteer to control when you have Greeter experiences. I'd also like to assure all of you we are continuing to add other tweaks you have suggested to help make the Greeters Program more successful! Thank you for all of your patience during the initial stages of this project. Please keep sending over your requests and suggestions. We will also be adding new Greeters to the group later this week and will be holding several in-world meetings early next week to touch base and welcome the new Greeters. Watch here and in-world for the announcement! Thanks again for all your help.

Thanks Jeska. This should be a big help. I always feel bad when I get a greeter request while I'm super busy or when I'm about to log off. Hopefully this will alleviate some of that.

We're hoping to have more and more of the Greeter experience moved over to the client once we have determined the best ways for the program to operate.

Sometimes...

I occasionally go afk for stretches but stay in world... I try to remember to check my history but am afraid of missing a newb. I wish these notifications came as an IM. IMs would also be easier to keep track of. I have a system now. I copy and paste the Newbs names into a Greeter notecard with date of assignment. Then I use a system of marks to keep track of them: ?=missing in action, **=means contact was made, -- = means is in-world somewhere and IMs were sent but no reply back. BUT I still worry that Im gonna miss someone...

Totally agree with you Beta, IM's would be much better, we could also be aware of them if we were offline.
