I haven't seen this group in-world anymore, and all I see in Volunteer is "Mentors". Has this program been shut-down?

Instructors were removed because people were abusing the system by designating random events as "classes" and getting Linden sponsership for them.
Live Help was removed because it was being overwhelmed and replaced with the ticketing system. From my own experience as a live helper, this is because 50-60% of people calling Live Help would request not to have a volunteer reply to them.
Greeters were removed because their role in the world was unclear.. the original idea of Greeters was that you'd be met by one in the Welcome Area after OI, and they would take you around the world showing you how to do things you were interested in. It was a great idea, except that it broke down - many Greeters basically acted as Mentors and some didn't know what they were meant to do (I remember asking one Greeter what her Greeter Experience was - that's the name used for the "tour plan" Greeters are supposed to submit - and she just got mad and accused me of calling her inexperienced), and moreover, as the grid became more commercial it was impossible to disentangle Greeters from accusations of "funnelling" newbies to particular businesses - something that all volunteers have always been forbidden from doing.
